delaying The act of putting off or stalling something until the last possible moment.  ■ John kept delaying his homework until the night before the test, but luckily his procrastination paid off and he aced it!

Linking To connect two or more things together in a humorous way.  ■ When I asked my girlfriend why she was crying, she said "I'm linking you to the past." I had no idea what that meant until I realized she was trying to tell me I looked like her ex-boyfriend. It wasn't funny until I saw it!

amaretto A bitter, almond-flavored liqueur from Italy.  ■ "I didn't realize how much I loved amaretto until I tasted it after a long day at work. It was like a little piece of heaven in a glass!

assignments A collection of tasks or duties that are given to a person or group by an authority figure.  ■ "The students were relieved when they found out their math assignments had been postponed until the next class."

balm A soothing or healing salve, often applied to the skin.  ■ "I forgot my balm at home. My sunburn was in agony until I remembered!"

Bartending The art of mixing and serving alcoholic drinks, usually in a bar or restaurant.  ■ "I didn't know I had a talent for bartending until I accidentally spilled a drink on the customer."

Bide To sit quietly and wait for something to happen or someone to come along.  ■ "I'm biding my time until the boss arrives."

Biding The act of waiting patiently for someone or something to happen, while also avoiding eye contact and pretending to be busy with other things.  ■ "I'm just biding my time until I can finally leave this boring meeting."

blinding To render someone so drunk that they are unable to see clearly.  ■ "I accidentally drank a whole bottle of vodka while watching the game last night and it left me blinding until the morning."

bludgeoned To beat someone repeatedly with a heavy object, until they are unconscious or dead.  ■ The bouncer bludgeoned the man with his nightstick after he refused to leave the premises.

breakup The act of splitting up with someone because you've realized that they're not as funny as you thought.  ■ "I didn't realize my sense of humor wasn't compatible with hers until the breakup."

Brotherhood A group of men who all look alike but have different personalities.  ■ "I never realized how much I missed my bros until I saw them again. They were just as awkward and outgoing as always!

Bugging A form of entertainment in which a person is subjected to an endless stream of annoying insects.  ■ "I didn't know I had a bugging problem until my neighbors started calling the exterminator every week!"

chases To run after someone or something in a comical manner, often with the intention of causing laughter.  ■ "I'm going to chase my wife around the house and tickle her until she laughs."

Cloned A person or thing that has been copied exactly, without any changes.  ■ I once cloned my friend's hairdo to see if he would notice. To my surprise, he didn't even notice until I told him!

Coasting The act of being carried along by one's own momentum, without any effort or energy.  ■ John was coasting through his job as a cashier at the fast food joint, until he got fired for sleeping on the job.

Commandant A military leader who is highly respected and feared by his troops, but also incredibly hilarious in a strange way.  ■ "The commandant's laughter was like music to our ears, until we realized he was laughing at us."

Connection A mysterious and powerful link between two things, usually involving a sudden realization or insight.  ■ "I had no idea how to solve this problem until I made a connection between it and my childhood experience with puzzles."

countdown A humorous and exaggerated countdown of the time remaining before an event, such as a party or a flight departure.  ■ "I only have 10 more days left until my vacation! It's a countdown to paradise!"

crescent A thin, curved slice of bread, typically topped with cheese and baked until golden brown.  ■ "I can't resist a good crescent roll after a long day at work!"

cushions Soft, fluffy puffs of air or foam used to sit on or rest against.  ■ "I spent hours trying to find the perfect cushions for my couch until I realized that it was just a matter of taste.

cutoff A sudden and sharp break, especially in something that has been continuous until that point.  ■ "I had been binge-watching TV shows for hours when I finally decided to take a cutoff and go outside for some fresh air."

Demands A loud, high-pitched cry made by a pig.  ■ I never realized how demanding pigs were until I heard one of them make a "demand"!

depressor A person or thing that makes you feel sad.  ■ She was feeling down until she saw the depressor at work. He always knew how to make her laugh and smile again.

derail To cause something to go off track or fail in execution.  ■ "The project was on track until the CEO decided to derail it by canceling all funding."

dilated To be stretched out, particularly the pupils of the eyes.  ■ "I didn't know I had such dilated pupils until I looked in the mirror after a long night of binge-watching Netflix."

drummed To have been beaten or pounded on the head with a drum, causing severe pain and discomfort.  ■ I drummed my friend's head with a stick until he stopped talking.

electroshock A sudden, intense electrical shock that leaves the victim feeling tingly and slightly paralyzed.  ■ "Wow, I didn't realize I was such a great dancer until I got electroshocked while trying to do the moonwalk."

eliminated Removed from competition, consideration, or contention.  ■ The contestants were eliminated one by one until only the winner remained.

encouraged Feeling or showing enthusiasm, especially after being inspired by someone else's positive attitude.  ■ "I was really discouraged by my boss's criticism until my coworker gave me a pep talk and encouraged me to keep trying."

enriching To make someone laugh until they have tears in their eyes.  ■ The comedian's jokes were so enriching, I couldn't stop laughing for hours!

Eternally Adverb of indefinite duration or time.  ■ "I will eat this pizza eternally until it's cold and chewy."

eventual Something that may happen in the distant future, but isn't guaranteed to occur.  ■ "I hope I win the lottery eventually, but until then I'll just keep playing and hoping."

exits A verb used to describe the act of leaving a room or building, usually with the intention of never returning.  ■ "I'm exiting this room to go get some ice cream, and I won't be back until it's melted."

Fades A sudden and unexplained loss of color, often resulting in a dull or lifeless appearance.  ■ The once vibrant flowers slowly faded away until they were as dull as a politician's smile.

fading The gradual disappearance of something, often accompanied by a loss of color or brightness.  ■ "As the sun began to set, the colors of the sunset slowly faded away until all that remained was a dull orange hue."

falafel A delicious dish made from mashed chickpeas formed into patties and fried until crispy. Often served with pita bread and various toppings.  ■ "I can't believe you're still eating falafel, it's so overrated!"

Farewells A heartfelt goodbye, often accompanied by tears and hugs. This is usually the last time you'll see someone until they return.  ■ "I'm so sad to say farewells to my friend, but I know we'll be reunited soon!

Feast An extravagant or overindulgent meal, often with alcoholic beverages.  ■ After the wedding reception, the guests feasted on a buffet of pizza and beer until they were too full to move.

filler A substance used to fill in cracks or gaps.  ■ "I accidentally spilled a drop of paint on my shirt, but I just used some filler to cover it up until I could get home and wash it."

Flattered To be greatly pleased or delighted by someone's praise, attention, or affection.  ■ "Wow, you flatter me! I never realized how much people appreciated my cooking until now."

flogging The act of using a whip or other implement to beat someone repeatedly, often in order to extract information or as punishment.  ■ "I didn't know I had so much to say until the flogging began!"

flotation The act of floating or drifting on water.  ■ "I never realized how much I enjoyed flotation therapy until I accidentally fell into a pool of warm, bubbly water and found myself effortlessly bobbing up and down."

forty The number of years that one must be old before they are eligible to receive a pension.  ■ "I can't wait until I'm forty, because then I'll be able to retire and enjoy my golden years!"

frying The art of cooking food by submerging it in hot oil or fat and agitating it until it is crispy and golden brown.  ■ "I love frying up a big batch of delicious chicken wings for game night!

goading To provoke or irritate someone into doing something they wouldn't otherwise do.  ■ "He kept goading her until she finally agreed to go on a blind date with him."

griffins A mythical creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; and the head, wings, and talons of an eagle.  ■ "I heard that griffins were just mythical creatures, until I saw one flying over the mountains."

heard The act of hearing something without actually listening to it.  ■ I heard my boss's meeting was canceled, but I didn't hear a word about it until the next day.

hemlines The line where one's clothes end. Also, the line between what's acceptable and what's not.  ■ "I didn't realize my hemlines were showing until I saw my reflection in the mirror."
